Iran: Latest Toll in the Powerful Earthquake on Iran-Iraq Border Reached 336 dead People stand in the street after feeling aftershocks from an earthquake in Baghdad, Iraq.  Iran's main news TV channel, 'Khabar' reported that the latest casualties in last night's killer quake in Iran-Iraq border area has reached 336 dead and 3950 wounded.  But the Bloomberg reporting on November 13, 2017 said that the 7.3 magnitude earthquake has killed at least 220 people in both countries, while sending people fleeing their homes into the night which was felt as far west as the Mediterranean coast, authorities reported on Monday. The casualty toll came after Iran's state television further raised the death toll on its side of the border, saying 214 people died and 2,504 were injured in Iran alone. Women's News Iran: Women actively participate in Teachers’ Day protest gatherings Women teachers  actively and extensively participated in nationwide gatherings in Iran called for Thursday, October 5, 2017, on the World Teacher’s Day. Iranian teachers demanded not only their own legitimate rights but also the release of imprisoned teachers and political prisoners. The protest gatherings were held in Tehran, Yazd, Ahwaz, Shiraz, Mashhad, Tabriz and Gilan. The state-run ILNA news agency reported an estimated 500 teachers participated in Tehran’s gathering. Teachers from Tehran and Alborz provinces gathered outside the Planning and Budget Organization while similar gatherings in other provinces were held across from the education departments in every city.
