Iran, Several people injured due to earthquake in Sarpolzahab 4/2/2018 7:58:04 AM   facebook Google+ ► Print At least 18 persons were injured due after a 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted Sarpolzahab Iran, April 1, 2018  - At least 18 persons were injured due after a 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted Sarpolzahab and some nearby cities on the west side of the Kermanshah province, western Iran. Several residential buildings were damaged. This incident happened while the earthquake stricken people, who lost their homes in the November 12, 2017 earthquake, are still living in horrendous conditions due to lack of adequate shelter, or due to the destruction of their temporary caravans and trailers.

Iran; Farmers gather in Isfahan to protest lack of water 3/25/2018 9:04:08 PM Hundreds of farmers from cities and towns around the central city of Isfahan gathered Iran, Isfahan, March 24, 2018  – Based on a previous call, hundreds of farmers from cities and towns around the central city of Isfahan gathered at the iconic Pol e-Khajoo (Khajoo Bridge) in the center of the city to join other farmers to protest a plan by the government to dry up the once major and great river in Isfahan. This river has been running in Isfahan for past thousands of years and Khajoo Bridge, a historical structure was built more than 400 years ago. The gathering of the farmers to mark their protest took place on Friday, March 23rd, despite a heavy police presence to prevent the gathering to form.

UN Human Rights Council extends the mandate of Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran 3/23/2018 7:43:28 PM   facebook Google+ ► Print The UN Human Rights Council decided to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran UN Human Rights Council- 23  March 20  18- GENEVA -  The Human Rights Council in its midday meeting adopted five resolutions in which it extended the mandates on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Syria,  Iran , South Sudan and Myanmar. The Council decided by a vote of 21 in favour, 7 against and 19 abstentions, to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran for a further period of one year, and it requested the Special Rapporteur to submit a report on the implementation of the mandate at the Council’s fortieth session and to the General Assembly at its seventy-third session.

The municipality also added that its agents will collect garbage bins from across the city for that day. An official in the 6th district of the municipality stressed that Tehran’s gas stations must refuse to sell fuel to those who want to carry the gas in containers, adding: “we will collect every inflammable material in the city ranging from tree branches, worn-out vehicle tires, to any single material that can be set alight.”
