Iranian cleric ends his hunger strike after attaining some demands

Iran, Aug. 17, 2017 - Iranian state-run news agencies have reported that the opposition cleric, Mehdi Karroubi who had started a hunger strike on Wednesday, August 16, protesting pressures imposed on him by the security forces who have been assigned to his house arrest, has ended his hunger strike after being transferred to the hospital and attaining some of his demands.
Mehdi Karroubi, the former chair of the Iranian parliament who suffers from heart disease, went on hunger strike on Wednesday protesting the condition of his house arrest. He was later transferred to the hospital for medical treatment.
